In 2013 We’re Prioritising Improving Learning Disability Health

As a charity run by and for people with learning disabilities, we can’t help to be motivated by the big things affecting the lives of our members, and they don’t come any bigger than health!

Our lovely neighbours Obergine created this infographic to leave you in no doubt about the scale of the problem for the learning disabled community:

As a charity we’re going to do 10 things in 2013 to improve the health of the learning disabled community:

JANUARY: We started the year off with a consultation event offering health care professionals the opportunity to hear the concerns of people with learning disabilities.

FEBRUARY: We’re working with the Oxfordshire NHS Trust to create a DVD to train hospital staff in specific issued related to caring for and supporting people with learning disabilities.
