Last week seven My Life My Choice experts by experience travelled to Birmingham for a “CQC Learning Disability Advisory Conference”.
CQC have made a plan for the next 5 years and they want to talk to people about what those plans are, so they can check if they’re doing it right.
We heard a bit about these plans and then CQC asked us some questions.
“Do you agree that we should make our guidance stronger?”
“Do you think that the things we look for in a new hospital or care home are the right ones?”
“How could you help people to share their experiences of care with us?”
“What help would you need to support us outside of an inspection?”
We think it’s good that CQC ask experts by experience what we think.
We also enjoyed meeting experts by experience from other organisations.
