Inspections

What We Do

We work with organisations like the Care Quality Commission and Oxfordshire County Council to inspect health and social care services across the country.

Each year, MLMC delivers 42 Quality Checks accross Oxfordshire. These Quality Checks, or inspections, are carried out by an inspector with a learning disability, alongside a MLMC staff member. Our inspectors use their lived experience of having a learning disability to make services better.

How We Do It

We use frameworks like the Reach Standards to make people have the best quality of life, helping check whether they:

  • Get to choose where they live and who they live with.
  • Get to choose who supports them and how they are supported.
  • Are healthy and safe.
  • Get real choices and make their own life decisions, for example
  • Get real choices, for example making day to day decisions around activities and meals, as well as make their own life decisions, for example where they live, or who they have relationships with.
  • Can do the activities they enjoy.
  • Can speak up about what matters to them.

How can we help you?

MLMC have been supporting the delivery of Quality Checks for over 7 years. If you would like to deliver a similar service in your county, MLMC are able to provide training and support on how to do this. Please get in touch with us using the contact details below for more information.
