What is Easy Read?
Easy Read is a way of writing that uses simple, jargon-free English and pictures to make information easier to understand for people who have a learning disability or difficulty processing information.
It is important that information is presented this way wherever possible to ensure services and the community are accessible to all.
My Life My Choice recommends Photosymbols’ Easy Maker, an AI tool that can translate documents into Easy Read. Simply upload the document you want translating and Easy Maker will put it into plain English with images to match the text. It is important to check the document for accuracy, ease of understanding and appropriate images.

If you would like your document checked by an expert by experience with a learning disability to ensure it makes sense, please get in touch.
We have worked with organisations such as The University of Hertfordshire, British Association of Social Workers and The Department of Health to create bespoke guides on topics such as living through the Covid-19 pandemic, how to commission and produce Easy Read and how to engage with adult social care.
