Save Our Support

The Save Our Support campaign demands an end to the gaps in money and staff in social care. This means people will always have the support workers and social workers they need. Then they can live the lives they want.

Good support helps adults with learning disabilities to be themselves and live the lives they want. Without it, they have less choice and are more likely to be lonely and bored.

One of our members said this about their support, “She’s really, really fun, always thinking of me, and it wouldn’t be so much fun, or maybe I couldn’t do some things at all”.

There are more than 10,000 social care jobs in the UK that are unfilled (Local Government Association).

County Councils sometimes cannot give even a basic level of care. This means people do not get the lives they want.

To achieve our goals we believe the government needs to:

1. Sort out social care now.

2. Close the recruitment gap.

3. Fund care properly.
